Jacob Creech

Jacob Creech is a pro-Trump American conspiracist who has been a central figure in the spread of the Kremlin’s false narrative that the United States has funded and operated biological weapons laboratories in Ukraine. He pilots the X disinformation account Clandestine (@WarClandestine), and has amassed more than 747,000 followers.

Creech is also known by the pseudonym BioClandestine. Formerly a member of the U.S. National Guard and a restaurant manager, he lives in rural Virginia and first rose to prominence within the QAnon milieu. The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has identified him as a key identity behind the pro-Kremlin conspiracy that Washington was financing and running a network of biolabs in Ukraine to, as Russian diplomatic accounts declared, genetically “destroy the Russian people”.

On February 14, 2022, a user of the far-right social network Gab posted a map purporting to show these American financed and operated biological laboratories in Ukraine. The post initially attracted little attention. On February 24, the day Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Creech reposted the image in a thread on @WarClandestine, claiming that Russian strikes were targeting those facilities. His thread went viral. Within hours, InfoWars, the conspiracy theory media outlet founded by Alex Jones, had relayed the claim, and the hashtag #USBiolabs spread on X and TikTok. Twitter suspended Creech’s account the following day. Creech later described himself, in an interview with Vice, as the author of the thread that had “kind of shook the world.”

The laboratories cited in these allegations were not U.S.-run biological weapons sites. They were connected to biological threat reduction and public-health programs. PolitiFact found that there were no U.S.-run biolabs in Ukraine and that the relevant cooperation between the U.S. Defense Department and Ukrainian public-health authorities dated back to 2005. The biolabs allegation belongs to a longer tradition of Soviet and Russian disinformation about biological weapons, later reactivated in the context of Russia’s war against Ukraine.

The narrative quickly moved from fringe online spaces into more mainstream media and official propaganda channels. On February 27, 2022, the Russian embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina endorsed the claim on Facebook, prompting Creech to celebrate what he presented as confirmation of his “hypothesis.” On Fox News, Tucker Carlson devoted several segments to the issue beginning on March 9, 2022. On March 31, the Russian Defense Ministry released a chart connecting the alleged laboratories to Hunter Biden and the billionaire philanthropist George Soros. According to researcher Dusan Bozalka, this marked a notable case in which Kremlin propaganda drew on a narrative that had emerged from QAnon-linked circles. The  trajectory of the conspiracy theory has been analyzed by the Illiberalism Studies Program as a passage from fringe conspiracy influencers to U.S. media and Kremlin actors.

Creech continues to peddle the biolabs theory as he promotes Donald Trump’s push to illegally run for a third term as US President in 2028. He merges his various favoured conspiratorial themes from the biological weapons laboratories invention to the “Deep State” and the rigged election with a Chinese Communist Party joint plot to destroy the American people such as in August 2026 when he wrote on X that:

“A centuries-old transnational terrorist organization, known as the Deep State, released a biological weapon, killed millions, and stole a US presidential election, in conjunction with the CCP…If you are focused on defending the Antifa furry that murdered Charlie, instead of fighting the Globalist death-cult trying to replace the American People and implement a global one-party rule, you need to unfuck yourself immediately and reorient your priorities. You and your liberties are under attack. Your way of life is in jeopardy. You are at war, whether you recognize it or not. It’s long past time for everyone to start acting like it. Stop focusing on unimportant shit, and focus on the mission.”

Creech rejects the label of QAnon supporter. His successive accounts have nevertheless relayed QAnon themes since 2018, according to the ADL. In November 2020, he appeared on the conspiracist program RedPill78 and pushed the false claim that the U.S. presidential election in which Joe Biden defeated Donald Trump had been “stolen”. The ADL has also documented posts in which he called for the execution of public officials. On January 11, 2022, he advocated capital punishment for the United States’ then-chief medical adviser  Dr Anthony Fauci. In June 2026, reacting to a post by the recently fired Trump Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard accusing Fauci of responsibility for the COVID-19 crisis, Creech wrote that the physician “must pay the ultimate price.” The following day, he also called for a “Nuremberg 2.0”, a term used in anti-vaccine and COVID-conspiracist circles to demand trials, and sometimes punishment, for those accused of having managed or benefited from the pandemic.

After his suspension in February 2022, Creech’s account was later reinstated following Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter. Creech greeted Musk with the phrase “Elon’s hat is white” — a reference to the QAnon vocabulary of “white hats,” used to describe supposedly pro-Trump actors inside the government, in contrast to “black hats,” the alleged enemies of Trump and the movement. The expression illustrates the persistence of QAnon and Deep State imagery in Creech’s online rhetoric, which he continues to spread on Musk’s X and  in his paid newsletter on Substack, which he presents as among the platform’s most-read publications.
