Laura Loomer

Laura Loomer (born 1993) is an American far-right conspiracy merchant and a powerful figure in Trumpism.

A supporter of Israel in foreign policy, she describes herself as a "proud Islamophobe." She began her career with Project Veritas, an organization specializing in undercover hidden-camera videos, before later working with Alex Jones’ conspiracist website InfoWars.

In 2018, Loomer claimed that the Parkland and Santa Fe school shootings were staged events, suggesting that "crisis actors" had been used to portray victims.

In October 2018, after mail bombs targeted several Democratic figures, Loomer claimed the attacks were a "false flag" operation designed to frame the political right. In a tweet, she argued that the suspect's van—covered in pro-Donald Trump stickers—proved the attack had been staged, using the hashtag #FakeBombs. The perpetrator, Cesar Sayoc, pleaded guilty in 2019.

In November 2018, Twitter permanently suspended Loomer's account following tweets targeting Democratic Representative Ilhan Omar. In protest, Loomer handcuffed herself to the doors of Twitter's New York headquarters while wearing a yellow Star of David on her chest. Facebook, PayPal, and Uber also banned her from their platforms. Elon Musk reinstated her account on X in late 2022, where she now has nearly 2 million followers.

Loomer ran as the Republican candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives in Florida in 2020 but lost to Democrat Lois Frankel. She ran again in 2022 but was defeated in the Republican primary by incumbent Daniel Webster.

She has also promoted the false claim that the 2020 U.S. presidential election was "stolen," alleging the existence of an "election fraud machine." However, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) described the election as "the most secure in American history."

On June 24, 2023, Loomer shared a video explicitly claiming that the September 11 attacks were an "inside job." She accompanied it with a comment alleging that the conspiracy was linked to then-Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld's September 10, 2001 announcement that $2.3 trillion in public funds had been "lost"—a false claim that has been debunked by Reuters.

In September 2023, she repeated an unverified claim by Jake Angeli (the "QAnon Shaman") alleging that a Ukrainian present at the Capitol on January 6 had ties to the Ukrainian intelligence services. According to Loomer, "Ukrainian spies" had infiltrated the Capitol.

On January 6, 2024, she described the January 6, 2021 Capitol attack itself as an "inside job."

A few days later, she publicly wondered whether the Deep State had used HAARP to rig the Iowa caucuses.

During the 2024 presidential campaign, Loomer drew even closer to Donald Trump. Commenting repeatedly on the attempted assassination of Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13, 2024, she claimed it too was an "inside job."

She also helped amplify the xenophobic rumor that Haitian migrants in Springfield, Ohio, were stealing and eating residents' pets—claims that local authorities categorically denied. She further wrote that if Kamala Harris won the presidency, the White House would "smell like curry."

In March 2025, she joined in the attacks on the Governor Ron DeSantis and his administration in Florida for investigating the Tates. She posted multiple unverified claims about the staff around DeSantis, claiming they “celebrate the murder of Trump supporter Ashli Babbitt on J6”. Loomer was referring to the US Capitol rioter Babbitt who was part of the insurrection and storming of the seat of the American government on January 6, 2021. Yet Babbitt was not ‘murdered’. She was shot by police as she tried to break into the Speaker’s lobby in Congress.

Loomer’s influence grew after Trump's return to the White House. On April 2, 2025, Trump welcomed her to the Oval Office. The following day, six members of the National Security Council lost their jobs. Trump denied acting on her recommendations but praised her as a "great patriot."

In July 2025, Loomer campaigned against Jen Easterly, the former head of the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency. The U.S. Military Academy at West Point subsequently withdrew Easterly's appointment.

In July 2026, Loomer made a dramatic reversal on the war in Ukraine. She had previously described Ukraine as "corrupt and full of Nazi sympathizers" and had called President Volodymyr Zelensky a "jihadist sympathizer." She now acknowledges that she was wrong, says she was misled by Russian propaganda, and argues that Republicans opposed to supporting Ukraine "will come to see how evil Russia is as they continue funding Iran with weapons to murder US soldiers as they call for President Trump to be assassinated."

On July 23, 2026, she traveled to Kyiv to interview President Zelensky for her Rumble program, Loomer Unleashed. She called for "moral clarity" toward Russia, while the Ukrainian presidency praised her "courage."

“I told President Zelenskyy the truth about myself,” she wrote on X. “I used to be anti-Ukraine, I even wrote a few articles for RT, Russian state media, and I made several very mean tweets about Zelenskyy. One time, I even said he was a Fake Nazi Jew. I confessed to all of this when I saw Zelensky. I fell for Russian propaganda before I traveled to a war zone and saw Ukraine for myself. One time, I said Zelenskyy should even use some of the billions of dollars we as US taxpayers sent him to buy a custom made Italian suit instead of walking around looking like a life-sized GI Joe doll. I apologized to him for saying these things. And, he wore a suit for our interview!”.

Amid her spectacular mea Culpas in Ukraine, and despite her vocal battles against antisemitism, she persists in employing similar hateful tropes against Muslims, echoing conspiracy narratives like the Great Replacement and White Genocide. She posted on X: “One thing I really love about Ukraine is that I haven’t seen a single Muslim here”.

Loomer also engaged on Elon Musk’s platform with pro-Kremlin British extreme right racist activist Tommy Robinson about how “They haven’t allowed their country to be taken over by Islam”. While tackling fellow extreme right MAGA sphere influencers on X like ‘Tucker Qatarlson’ (Tucker Carlson) and Jack Posobiec for their opposition to US support for Ukraine and the US-Israel war against Iran, Loomer continues to advocate for white supremacism and the return of McCarthyism in the United States. She continues to back the charged rapist and human trafficker, misogynist and antisemitic conspiracy monger Andrew Tate.
