GRAYZONE. Extreme left commentator Max Blumenthal has spread the neo-Nazi and white supremacist conspiracy theory about a Zionist Occupied Government or ‘ZOG’ claiming Jews are in control of the United States Government. "Now I'm forced to see it as a pretty accurate description of the reality we live in as One Nation Under Z.O.G.,” Blumenthal said in a video chat broadcast on conspiracist platform Grayzone or GZ (Source: Dave Rich/X and Post-Left Watch/X, August 12, 2024).

US ELECTIONS. Donald Trump has falsely accused Vice President Kamala Harris of using AI technology to fabricate images of crowd sizes at her rallies, parroting an unfounded conspiracy theory circulating among MAGA Republican commentators. "There was nobody at the plane, and she 'A.I.’d' it, and showed a massive 'crowd' of so-called followers, BUT THEY DIDN’T EXIST!" Trump wrote on his Truth Social network. "She’s a CHEATER. She had NOBODY waiting, and the 'crowd' looked like 10,000 people! Same thing is happening with her fake 'crowds' at her speeches." The Harris campaign flatly denied the allegation, maintaining that the photo in question was a real picture of a 15,000-person crowd cheering for the Harris-Walz ticket in Michigan. Trump has been trying to pivot his campaign to attack Harris ever since President Joe Biden dropped out and endorsed her (Sources: CNBC, August 10, 2024; Wired, August 13, 2024).
ELON MUSK. Donald Trump ran through his checklist of conspiracy theories in a rambling conversation with his billionaire supporter Elon Musk that was initially derailed by what the tech titan said was a technical glitch. In a very one-sided conversation on X, which Musk bought in 2022 when it was still known as Twitter, Trump vented about a "zombie apocalypse" of immigration, repeatedly blasted President Joe Biden as "stupid", and mused on developing a new missile defense system based on the one that defends Israel. The highly-anticipated interview between former U.S. President Donald Trump and tech mogul Elon Musk on X, formerly Twitter, was marred by a significant Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attack. The highly-anticipated interview between former U.S. President Donald Trump and tech mogul Elon Musk on X, formerly Twitter, was marred by a significant Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attack. Various conspiracy theories surfaced, with some claiming that the CIA orchestrated the attack to disrupt Trump's return to the platform ahead of the U.S. Presidential elections (Sources: France 24 and The Express Tribune, August 13, 2024).
UK RIOTS. An open letter signed by 50 senior peers of the British House of Lords condemned the Islamic Human Rights Commission (IHRC) for what they describe as "primitive, dangerous, and disgraceful antisemitism." The Islamic Human Rights Commission has asserted that “far-right elements” have been “enabled by their Zionist financiers abroad” in its lette to the home secretary and police chiefs asserts. In their letter published in response in The Times, Sir Ephraim Mirvis, the Chief Rabbi, Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr. Sayed Razawi, Chief Imam of the Scottish Ahlul Bayt Society, and other faith leaders point out that an appropriate response to the outbreak of hatred, violence, and vandalism is to work on building “a cohesive and harmonious society for all” (Sources: Jerusalem Post, August 10, 2024; ADL, August 7, 2024).
QANON. YouTube has reportedly reinstated the main channel for X22 Report, a program affiliated with and popular among supporters of the harmful QAnon conspiracy theory. The apparent reinstatement of this QAnon-affiliated channel, which was removed from the platform during its October 2020 crackdown on QAnon-affiliated programs, appears to contradict the platform’s policy against such content (Source: Media Matters for America, August 14, 2024).
